Run Run Girls

Project : Run Run Girls app      Role : UX research, UX Design, Prototyping, Usability testing, Visual Design      Duration : .2021.11- 2022.1

Project Vision

  • It will provide a useful service for Gen Z and millennial women who want to start running, and for women who want to make new friends with a new healthy hobby

  • For potential users who feel that existing running apps are too expensive, we hope that this app will make running easier for them

Assumption

Due to the global pandemic, more and more people are seeking healthier lifestyles, activewear is more popular than ever, and people are eager to participate in outside health events. As a result, more and more people are posting healthy and fashionable lives on Instagram to satisfy their need for approval.

Insight

We researched our competitors and found that there are several running recording and training apps, but they seem to be too complex, have too many features, and are too high level for novice runners and potential users. So, if we can create a running app that is simpler and easy to post on Instagram like TikTok, it will be more popular.

Research

Potential user want to try it from a very beginner's level. But existing run apps are too professional for them. Some user confused to find "Quick Run" and "Stop" button.

Challenge 3

Since users are already accustomed to using the instagram application, we created an application with a similar design to instagram. For this reason, we created "Recommended hashtags," "Easy to post selfies and Today's activity page" on instagram," and "post in stories.

What I learned

According to user interviews, this pandemic situation is still going on as of 2022, and depression issues, loneliness issues, sleep issues, etc. are still expanding.

These existing apps are great, but they are too complicated and too specialized for very novice users who want to show their new healthy lifestyle or find real events to connect with new friends. So I decided to create an app that would help those people.

I realized how important it is to empathize with people's problems and needs.
